 TTS.F03 - Nachu Horse Racing Festival

 

Every August is the golden season in north Tibet grasslands. Thousands of herdsmen through to Nagqu, form a city of tents There are thrilling horse race, archery, demonstrations of horsemanship and commodity fairs. Song and dance troupes from all parts of Tibet add to the fun. We would enter into Tibet along the safest route of Qinghai-Tibet, and on the way we could also visit Qinghai Lake, which is the biggest salt lake of China, Tuo Tuo River, the source of Changjiang River, and the most well known monasteries and palaces of Tibetan Buddhism. All these above would let you get a clear idea of Tibetan conditions and customs.

Arriving at Lhasa Gongga Airport from Chengdu or KTM or Guangzhou. Met at the airport and transferred to Lhasa city. Rest while to get acclimatized. Stay at Shambala Hotel or same standard(3 stars)

City sightseeing in Lhasa covers: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhore Street. Stay at Shambala Hotel or same standard(3 stars)

Driving 220km to Nachu, the captial of the northern Tibetan Glassland. Overnight in Nahcu Hotel(1 star)

Joining the Horse Racing Festival, entertain with the local Tibetans. Overnight in Nachu Hotel(1 star)

Driving back to Dangxung, go to visit Namco Lake¡ªthe stunning highest salt lake in the world, walking on the lakeside to enjoy the natural beauty! Overnight in Dangxung guesthouse.

Driving back to Lhasa, do some shopping in the afternoon.
