Reporter April 22 from the Provincial Forestry Department was informed today by the State Nature Reserve, Yibin Laojunshan approved by the provincial nature reserve "promotion" for the National Nature Reserve. Currently the province has 18 national nature reserves, 50 provincial nature reserves.
The total area of 3500 hectares of Laojunshan Nature Reserve is located within Pingshan County, Yibin City, protected areas rich in rare and endemic plant and animal species, and second the national level protected animals, 30 species of 13 species of protected animals at the provincial level, the main object of protection at the national level protected wild animals - the Sichuan Hill Partridge. Sichuan Partridge is a bird endemic to China, was listed as endangered species worldwide. Laojunshan habitat has 300 nature reserves around the Sichuan Hill Partridge, accounting for 22.5% of the total number of existing world.
Laojunshan Nature Reserve was established in 2000, 2002, approved as a provincial nature reserve.
